St John’s Kids – 08 November 2020

 SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER

Today’s Services:

Access our streamed services here.

Get ready to join in the kids’ song that we introduced a couple of weeks ago, My Lighthouse.

In this week’s passage, 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, Paul tells us that giving is an individual matter, one that each family must decide for themselves, and is not to be determined by what others are doing. He encourages intentionality and giving out of joy, delighting in the act of giving, as a response to all that God has gifted us. God love is unconditional, but it pleases him when we are generous to others, just as he has been generous to us. And when we joyfully use our time, energy, money and skills to serve others, it helps others come to know the goodness of God.

If we want our kids to flourish as they grow up, it is important to teach them to be givers. Teach them to love, value and serve others by modelling this behaviour and by including them in your own discussions and decisions about giving and serving.

Activity sheets, if needed, to keep hands busy while listening to Tim’s talk:

If you need a hint with the harder Word Scramble, help your kids look up 2 Corinthians 9:7 in the NKJV. Compare that version with the words used in the NIV and NRSV.
