Many people encounter difficult Bible passages and are left feeling confused or unsettled. We’re doing a sermon series using Dan Kimball’s book How (Not) to Read the Bible, we will consider how context, genre, history, and the whole story of Scripture help us understand even the Bible’s most challenging verses.
Ordering the book is completely optional, but could be beneficial if you would like to read along during the week, as we dive into it in our sermons on Sundays. Life groups are also encouraged to study the book alongside the series.
Our hope is that this series will strengthen our confidence in the Bible as God’s inspired Word and help us read it with greater wisdom, honesty, and faith.
