St John’s Kids & Families, 17 October 2021

St John’s Kids Online

Our kids’ program often follows the sermon series. But not this term! We are going to dive into Genesis and learn more about some of the people we often find references to in the New Testament, and how their stories point towards Jesus and help us learn more about God’s plans, promises and blessings. We’ll be looking at the lives of people like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.

At home, during this term, I’d encourage you to spend some time reading Genesis 12-50 and/or age-appropriate story adaptations that cover this section of the bible. (The first four weeks of term will be drawing from chapters 12-22.)

Sunday 17 October Zoom sessions:

9:00 – 9:25am Kinder/Prep/1/2

9:30 – 9:55am Grades 3/4/5/6

Join here. If prompted, Meeting ID: 827 1166 4563 / Passcode: SJKids

Note: If you join early, prepare to be in the ‘waiting room’ before being admitted.

We strive to create safe environments for children to come to know and experience the love of Jesus. Each online session will have two adult leaders and we encourage in-room parental supervision, particularly for younger children. If you would like the option of leaving your child(ren) unsupervised in our online sessions, you must complete a permission form, if you haven’t previously done so.

We have another guest speaker this week, Brian Rosner, from Ridley College

Upcoming Events

Q&A with Bishop Kate:

Next Sunday, our regional bishop, Kate Prowd, will take part in our services and as part of that, we’ll be pre-recording a Q&A session with her. Is there anything you’ve always wanted to ask a bishop? Ask your kids if there’s anything they would like to ask. Send your questions to Andy by Monday 18 October and we’ll endeavour to get you an answer!

Youth Unite: Friday 22 October, 7:00-8:30pm.

As it’s now Term 4, Grade 6s are invited to join youth events! Head here for more info, and for questions please contact our Youth Minister, Andi.

Grade 4/5/6 Fun & Games: Saturday 23 October, 3:30-5:00pm

Grade 2/3 Fun & Games: Saturday 30 October, 3:30-5:00pm

If you have a child in Grades 2-6 and have not yet received an invitation to one of the Fun & Games events (a) check your inbox/junk/spam folders, and if that doesn’t solve the mystery, (b) please contact me!

Have a great week,

Kylie – Children & Families’ Minister
