St John’s Kids & Families, 13 March 2022

Lent

The season of Lent began on Wednesday 2 March. This is a time of reflection and preparation in the lead up to Easter.

If you missed them, refer to the last two posts for ways your family might engage with each other and draw closer to Jesus during this period: 25 Feb / 6 Mar.

We can all benefit from each other’s experiences. If you have a particular way that you like to prepare for Easter, share with others by posting in our St John’s Parents’ Facebook Group.

Upcoming Events

  • Sat 26 March: Games/Bonfire/Dinner Event for St John’s Kids in Grades 4/5/6. Invites have been sent out, so check your inbox and contact me if you haven’t received yours. One possible reason you may not have received one is if you haven’t completed a St John’s Kids Registration form this year … we may not have your family’s up to date details! Please action this by heading to the Info Hub.
  • Sun 15 May: Church Picnic. Location to be advised.
  • Fri 3 June: Event for St John’s Kids in Grades 1/2/3. Early evening event. Further details to be advised.
  • Wed 29 June – Fri 1 July: Going Bananas! Planning is underway for our Holiday Program for Primary School kids. Parents: Save the dates. Volunteers: We usually leave recruiting our team to Term 2. However, to help us plan for the size program we can run this year, we would love to have an early expression of interest from Adults and Teenagers who are keen to be involved in leading or assisting a small group of kids during the program, or leading/assisting with craft, games, and other activities. Register your interest here.

Have a great week,

Kylie – Children & Families’ Minister
