St John’s Kids Registration Forms

If you haven’t already done so this year, please complete our St John’s Kids Registration form for your child/ren. Keeping details up to date, helps our team communicate well and keep kids safe.

If your child/ren don’t attend our in-person program at the 10am service, please still fill out the form so that we have your details for special events that we run through the year.

Family Discipleship

Sit down as a family and try to name Jesus’ twelve disciples. Depending on the age of your kids, you could each write a list and then compare, or take turns to name one at a time.

READ Matthew 10:1-4

Are there any names you missed?

Chat about the different names. Which are the most familiar? Do you have friends with any of these names? Which are most unfamiliar to you?

ASK what your kids think a disciple is. (A believer and follower of Jesus. Although there was an original twelve, anybody who believes in and follows Jesus is a disciple.)

READ Matthew 10:5-8

What instructions did Jesus give the disciples to begin their mission?

READ Matthew 10:9-11

Can you imagine setting off somewhere without packing clothes or food? Without taking money with you or making sure you had somewhere to stay? Does it sound like an exciting adventure or a bit scary?

Why do you think Jesus told them to do this? (Jesus wanted them to trust God for everything, and perhaps wanted to give others the opportunity to serve them by giving them food, shelter and seeing to other needs.)

Just as Jesus sent the twelve out to spread the good news, we also have a role to play in making Jesus known to others. This applies to kids as well as adults – we all have opportunities every day to make good choices and live the way Jesus wants us to.

DISCUSS how we might do that in our everyday lives. Talk about how we can show the love of Jesus and share our faith with others through our words, our actions, and our prayers.

PRAY together

Have a great week,
