St John’s Kids & Families, 21 January 2022

Happy New Year everyone!

I’m back from a bit of a break away from the office and looking forward to reconnecting with you all in the coming weeks.

Who has made some new year’s resolutions? The most common resolutions made in our society relate to exercise, diet, weight loss, and saving money.

While there’s nothing wrong with reassessing these things, first and foremost it should be our spiritual health, our relationship with God, that we aspire to improve.

My CHALLENGE to you this week is to sit down as a family and discuss what changes you can make, to strive to prioritise God this year and grow in faith together.

Depending on your current practices, you could commit to praying and reading the bible more regularly together, following a daily family devotion guide, keep a prayer diary so that you can look back and see how God has answered prayer, intentionally observe the Sabbath as a family, begin volunteering at church as a family, or start tithing.

Whatever you do, pray and rely on God’s strength to help you and don’t be discouraged with occasional failures – allow them to motivate you further.

Note: St John’s Kids in-person activities will resume from Sunday 30 January during our 10am service.

Look forward to seeing you soon,

Kylie – Children & Families’ Minister

St John’s is committed to Child Safety and welcomes your feedback on how we can keep improving.
