St John’s Kids & Families, 02 May 2021

Family Discipleship is not so much about cramming more into busy schedules as it is about being intentional and leveraging the time parents already have with their children, to help them become friends and followers of Jesus.

If you would like to utilise some time you spend in the car on the way to school, or swimming, or music lessons, etc., you may be interested in The Word On The Street – an Australian, Christian devotional podcast for families. Each episode is just 10 minutes and is a great way to add some bible teaching and discussion to the family routine.

Reminder re this term in St John’s Kids:

Our usual practice for our in-person program is to follow the talk series. This is so that parents and kids can connect outside of Sunday activities and discuss and compare what they have heard and learnt.

This term the talk series will cover Galatians 1-6. However, before the series starts, we have two guest mission speakers – last week was Prison Fellowship and this week, 2 May, is Open House. The Galatians talk series will start next week and run through the rest of term and the July school holidays.

As our kids’ programs do not run in the holidays, the kids started the Galatians teaching last week and will finish up the series at the end of term. So, keep in mind that your kids will be a couple of weeks ahead of you in the teaching series this term.

Have a great week,

Kylie – Children & Families’ Minister
