St John’s Kids – 18 October 2020

St John’s Kids – 18 October 2020

SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER

Today’s Services:

Access our streamed services here.

Our kids’ song today is Jesus Number 1.

Kids, in this song we honour Jesus by placing him first in our lives and sing about him ruling for eternity. When you think about rulers and leaders, do you expect them to have people do things for them, or for them to serve others? Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is not about recognition and rewards, but about service to others. So, if we want to be more like Jesus, we need to live our lives helping others.

Activity sheets, if needed, to keep hands busy while listening to Julie’s talk:

Today’s Events:

It has been wonderful seeing all your faces over the past three weeks, during our first round of St John’s Kids Zoom sessions.

Based on responses we have received, we are making a change to our rotations and combining the Grade 2/3s and the 4/5/6s, as we do when we meet in person. We feel the slightly larger groups will still be manageable on Zoom and will further nurture cross-year level friendships. It will also mean that each child will have a session every two weeks, instead of three, for the rest of term.

Thank you for your support and adaptability as we try new things!

This week’s 4:00pm session is aimed at Kinder/Prep. Join here. (Meeting ID: 547 531 1108 / Password: 487S6x)

This week’s 4:30pm session is aimed at Grade 1. Join here. (Meeting ID: 727 834 2620 / Password: One)

If you have not already read, or need to refer back to, the details of these sessions, please see this previous post. Remember, you must complete a permission form if you would like to leave your child(ren) unsupervised in our online sessions.

Upcoming Event:

15 November is our annual Thanksgiving Sunday. We want to celebrate God and give him thanks for who he is and all that he has done for us over the past year.

Kids, we would love you to be involved. What have you seen God doing in your life this year? What are you thankful for? What blessings have you found amid the restrictions of lockdown? Film a 15-30sec clip to tell us, upload here, and we will include it in the service that day.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Have a great week!
