I hope you have have had a wonderful school holiday period and are ready to get back into the swing of things for 2020! Please read the below information carefully about Youth Life Groups in 2020.
What to expect for Youth Life Groups in 2020?
In 2019 we had all our Youth Life Groups meeting 4 pm on Sundays, this worked pretty well but did have a few challenges. One of these challenges was it not being a good time for some volunteers we would have loved to lead.
This year we have some new leaders joining the team as we say goodbye to some others. Due to the availability week to week of these new leaders we are looking to hold one of our Youth Life Groups during the week, whilst continuing to have some groups run on a Sunday afternoon.
This is an awesome opportunity for a few reasons; we get to invite two new awesome leaders onto the team; a weeknight may be more accessible for your youth to attend; and, this helps provide room for growth in St Johns Youth.
Like any change it will require a bit of work to get going and smooth out, but I think this will be an awesome opportunity for Youth at St Johns.
What next?
We’re asking that ALL youth, years 7-12 (or equivalent) Please fill in this form.
This form is for everyone, whether you were part of a Youth Life Group last year or would like to join one for the first time this year. This will make sure we have your up to date emergency details, as well as find out what your availability is week-to-week for a youth Life Group. Please indicate all times you might possibly be available, not just your preferred times.
When will Youth Life Groups start?
Once I have everyone’s availability we will chat with the leadership team and determine whether we will be able to hold one group during the week, and who will continue to meet Sunday afternoons. I will be in contact as soon as this is decided, my hope is to have this locked in as soon as possible. So, please let me know your youth’s availability ASAP so this can happen!
Also, don’t forget to register for Camp Crave 2020!
Camp Crave is for students in years 7-12 (or equivalent) over the Labour Day long weekend, March 6-8.
